Calum Scott Gives Me All The Feels On “Dancing On My Own” Cover

This song! I’m such a massive fan of the original by Robyn, and there have been numerous covers, including a great one by Kings of Leon.

But my favorite has to be the recent cover by British singer Calum Scott. He takes Robyn’s dance anthem from 2010 and flips the script, turning it into a heartfelt and emotionally charged ballad. The lyrics in the song are heartbreaking, and Callum’s arrangement really intensifies the sentiment! His voice is superb, especially in the acoustic version of the song. You can really feel the pain of unrequited love.

Robyn sings “Dancing On My Own” on Ellen

Robyn has made several appearances in LA in the last few days, including a stop on Ellen to perform her hit song, “Dancing On My Own”.

Robyn’s music is what good pop music should sound like. There’s so much bad pop music out there, it’s great to see Robyn getting the success and exposure her music deserves.

And the song. I love it. It speaks to me in a way that a song/lyrics haven’t in some time. As an introvert, I feel this song – it speaks to me. Thank you Robyn!

Favorite Albums of 2010

It’s taken us a while to compile a list of our favorite albums of 2010. There were so many albums we enjoyed this year, and it was a daunting task to narrow them down. But alas, here are 40 of our favorite albums.

There were two requirements for our list of favorites – they had to have been released in 2010, and ones that spent a good amount of time in our cd players and playlists. This list could easily have been longer, but we had to make some decisions and cuts. What can we say, we love music and an eclectic mix. Here’s the list…

Favorite Albums of 2010 (in alphabetical order):

  • Arcade Fire – The Suburbs
  • Black Dub – Black Dub

Edit: As Michael Buble once said, “HOLY SHIT BALLS!” There were several albums that I LOVE from this past year that escaped the initial list. It was a lapse in my organization, and in no way a reflection of the album or the artists. Here’s the three that I missed (and there may be more… whoopsie)

  • Justin Nozuka – You I Wind Land and Sea
  • KT Tunstall – Tiger Suit
  • Ry Cuming – Ry Cuming
