New Album and Single: Michael Buble – “Hollywood”

Michael Buble will be re-releasing his hit album, Crazy Love, on October 25th. The album was released in October last year and topped the album charts in the US and the UK as well as Ireland, Australia and Canada, where Buble is from. The album included the hit single, “Haven’t Met You Yet”, as well as the popular remake of “Cry Me A River”.

The new version is called Crazy Love Hollywood Edition, and will be released on October 25th. It will have live tracks as well as some brand new songs, including the new lead single, “Hollywood”. The track was released yesterday and can be downloaded on Amazon and iTunes. The music video will be released later this month, and is said to have Michael Buble singing with some celebrities… stay tuned.

Until we get the music video, take a listen to “Hollywood”:

I really like Michael Buble. There are certain days where I have “Home” or “Lost” on repeat for hours. “Home” is definitely one of my favorite songs of all time… it’s amazing.  I haven’t seen him live, but have seen his DVDs (really like Michael Buble Meets Madison Square Garden)and the man is an entertainer. He reminds me of Robbie Williams, with his suave stage presence and vocals. I’m looking forward to the live tracks on the album as well as some new tracks.

Helping Haiti – “Everybody Hurts”

The current #1 single in the UK is the charity single, “Everybody Hurts” which was organized by Simon Cowell. The single is a cover of the classic R.E.M. hit and features many amazing singers, including: Leona Lewis, Cheryl Cole, Michael Buble, Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Susan Boyle, Alexandra Burke, JLS, Mariah Carey,  Mika, James Blunt, James Morrison, Joe McElderry, and a few other.

The single has sold an estimated 453,000 copies, about half of which were sold in the first two days. The single is the fastest selling charity single of the UK in the 21st century. And of course, 100% of the proceeds go to aiding Haiti.

Check out the music video:

This songs is one of my all time favorites. I love the original by R.E.M., but the cover by The Corrs as performed for their MTV Unplugged performance really cemented the song as one of my favorites. The song is very emotional and really deep and meaningful.

The song was a brilliant choice for Simon Cowell. The song’s lyrics and sentiment are very applicable to what is happening in Haiti. And the vocals are amazing. I could do without a few of the artists (Miley Cyrus, Rod Stewart and Jon Bon Jovi). I really love how each artist was able to put their own spin on the song, especially Susan Boyle. The artists put a lot of emotion in the song and it is very evident, especially when seeing them record their parts. The video is also brilliant, if not difficult to watch.

The single is available to purchase in the UK and the US. You can get the physical single through Amazon.co.uk or download it through iTunes. It is a great song and it is for a great cause… what are you waiting for?!

And here are the artists, talking about Haiti and recording the song:
