My Favorite Albums of 2013

So, I wrote this mid-December… but never posted it. So here it is… my favorite albums of 2013…

—-

It’s nearly the end of the year, and it’s time to share my favorite albums/songs of the year. This is by no means a comprehensive list, but merely highlights of all the albums/songs that I’ve been obsessed with at some point this past year.

Above all, there was one band/album I was completely and absolutely obsessed with and wasn’t shy about it… Bastille and their debut album, Bad Blood. Even before it was released, I was already obsessed with what I had heard, and never stopped listening to it once it was finally released. I saw the guys play two shows in LA, and had a chance to meet them when they stopped by ALT 98.7fm, and they’re equally amazing live, and incredibly hilarious, humble and gracious. Nice lads. If you don’t have Bad Blood, you’re missing out – but don’t get it just yet… they’re releasing a deluxe version of the album called All This Bad Blood soon – hold out for it as it’s loaded with more goodness, including their epically awesome mash-up “Of The Night.” I wish they’d release their mash-up of “We Can’t Stop” and Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” from BBC Radio’s Live Lounge.

Here’s my favorite song from the album (right now):

Another album, or albums, that captivated me for the better part of 2013 was Between and Between Us by Frankmusik. I’ve been a longtime fan of Vincent and his songwriting and producing, and with Between/Between Us, he’s back on form. They’re my favorite albums of 2013 that you’ve probably not heard… and he’s not done yet! He’s a workaholic and will release new music soon. And he does it all by himself…. he writes, plays, sings, produces and releases all this music himself. He’s everything that’s right with pop music.

Anyway, those were my two favorite albums of 2013… here are the rest:

BastilleAll This Bad Blood
