Adele’s back! Brilliantly performs at iTunes Festival London 2011 including a cover of Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me”

I’m so glad everyone has caught on to Adele and her amazing voice and spirit. Three years ago I heard “Hometown Glory” and madly fell in love with her voice. Seeing and hearing her perform in the intimate Hotel Cafe before 19 came out was a special moment and one I’m glad I experienced. (The audio of that show was made available as a bonus disc on the deluxe version of 19 – HIGHLY recommend it). She is one of the nicest and most genuine superstars I’ve come across.

Since then, she’s deservedly become a household name.

She’s amazing.

Here’s a cover of Bonnie Raitt‘s masterpiece, “I Can’t Make You Love Me”, performed live at iTunes Festival London 2011:

And an amazing version of “Someone Like You” with a fantastic sing-along.

And of course, “Hometown Glory”:

Adele is back from her bout with Laryngitis. She sounds fantastic, is in good spirits, is cracking jokes and sounds amazing. In addition to rescheduling part of her US tour, she’s added dates in a few new cities. Get details on her website – seeing Adele live is a life changing experience.

Adele performs “Set Fire To The Rain” on the Graham Norton Show

Adele sang a spectacular performance of “Set Fire To The Rain” on the Graham Norton Show. She’s got such an amazing voice, control and stage presence. I feel every single word she sings. Truly talented.

It’s the 3rd single from her sophomore album, 21, which is doing phenomenally well worldwide.

21 currently sits at the #1 spot in both the UK and US – reclaiming the top spot in both countries. It’s spent 12 of 13 weeks in the top spot in the UK. That’s 3 months at the top… very impressive and well deserved.

“Set Fire To The Rain” is a classic hit and will surely sit at the top of the charts.

I can’t wait to see a music video – it has to be epic with all the powerful imagery and symbolism in the song.

Adele is on fire and no amount of rain is going to put it out.

Adele – “Hometown Glory” and “Someone Like You” from Shepherd Bush Empire in London

Adele is amazing.

I saw Adele for the first time on March 20, 2008 at Hotel Cafe, a mere two month after her debut album came out. It was a packed house in the small and intimate venue. It was one of the best shows I’ve ever been. I’ve seen her once since and will catch her in LA in June. I can’t wait – it’s been a while since I’ve seen her and experience her voice, and of course her quirky personality.

Earlier today, Adele played a homecoming show in London tonight at Shepherds Bush Empire. Her tour has more than sold out, with just about every city getting a venue upgrade and additional dates to meet ticket demand.

I’ve said it before, and will say it again, 21 is the album of the year.

“Hometown Glory” and “Someone Like You” are my absolute favorite Adele tunes, (although they are all amazing songs).

“Hometown Glory”

“Someone Like You”

There are many many more clips on YouTube. I really hope Adele releases a proper live DVD soon – or a “Behind the Music” special would be brilliant. A little bit of banter and storytelling – and a whole lot of singing.
