It’s finally here… new Mumford And Sons song, “Believe.”
As advertised, it’s different from what we’ve come to know as their signature sound. They received rave reviews of their debut album, Sigh No More, which was heavy on the folk/banjo sound. Their follow up, Babel, which won a GRAMMY for Album of the Year, got slightly mixed reviews, with people saying it was sonically too similar to their debut album.
I personally love both albums, but can see where the criticism came from, but I didn’t see it as a negative. Which brings me to “Believe,” from their upcoming and eager anticipated album, Wilder Mind, which comes out on the 4th of May.
I’ve of mixed minds. The song is great, but as as Mumford and Sons song, well, it’s lacking the banjo and folk I’ve come to love from them. But, nonetheless, it’s a solid song and I’ll take it. I do hope there’s some banjo on the album.
