On “Hold Me”, Tom Odell shows a different side to his music – a slightly more rambunctious and chaotic musical side. It’s the latest single from Tom and from his upcoming album, Long Way Down, which will be released at the end of June.
With his brilliant lead single, “Another Love”, Tom earned the Critics’ Choice Award at the BRIT Awards, and cemented his place as one of the artists to look out for in 2013. “Another Love” is an instantly classic pop song and an unavoidable hit. And he’s followed it up with “Can’t Pretend”, a piano driven song with a great build up and climactic bridge.
I was able to catch Tom’s LA debut at School Night at The Bardot a few weeks ago, and he is very talented and able to play edgier tunes like “Hold Me”, and captivate audiences with ballads like “Can’t Pretend” and “Another Love”.
After the show, I caught up with Tom and he mentioned the album was done and that he was looking forward to releasing it and coming back for more show in the US. Tom will in fact be back soon, with a US tour in the coming months, including a stop at The Troubadour in Hollywood in May. I thoroughly enjoyed his set at the Bardot and am looking forward to his set at The Troubadour.
