Matt Cardle, last years’ X-Factor winner, covered Adele‘s “Set Fire To The Rain” for BBC Radio 2.
Matt’s version is slower and more of a romantic/love ballad, whereas Adele’s version has more anger and scorn.
Throughout the competition last year, Matt beautifully performed songs by female singers, including Katy Perry, Beyonce, Leona Lewis, Dido and Rihanna.
His debut album, Letters, this past week in the UK. Expectations are high for the singer-songwriter. The lead single is a song penned by Gary Barlow, called “Run For Your Life”.
Matt isn’t the traditional UK Popstar…he’s more of a singer-songwriter. He’s definitely talented and I’m hoping the UK gives his album and career a chance.
