I heard “Get Over U” by Neon Hitch and was quite intrigued. The song is co-written by Sia, and was just released as a single, and an EP. Neon continues the recent trend of interesting, artistic, and non-traditional singer-songwriters – a la Lady Gaga, Marina and the Diamonds, and Jessie J to name a few.
Neon is an English singer-songwriter and has an interesting story. When she was younger, she and her family were featured in a BBC Documentary about their way of life. In the documentary, she says she “live[d] on a bus, travel around, and see lots of different places”… it’s fascinating. Take a look:
Watching young Neon, it’s apparent that she’s had an interesting upbringing and has a unique view on life. As a child, she was very well spoken, worldly, and wiser than most people her age… actually, probably wiser than many adults. And very driven and artistic.
Here’s Neon’s take on “Billionaire”… again, quite interesting.
Neon is currently working on her debut album, Beg, Borrow and Steal, which is due late 2011. I’m intrigued by what she has to say and her music. She’s one to watch out for – stay tuned.
